Moderator Powers

From Yuku Help

Jump to: navigation, search

You can assign varying levels of powers to your moderators.

  • Delete topics
  • Stick/unstick topics
  • Close/open topics
  • Feature/unfeature topics
  • Hide topics
  • Move/copy topics
  • Split/merge topics

This is done on a forum by forum basis when you give moderator status in that forum.

You can check as many powers as you wish your moderators to have. Be aware that there is currently a bug when delete is NOT checked. It affects the ability for mods to move topics into forums where they do not have moderator powers.

This can be done on the forum security page, or on the member's personal edit page.

Global Moderator

If you wish to have a global moderator - ie, full powers in all forums, you can make them an administrator, but revoke all control panel access by unchecking all the Admin Powers options. They will be able to access ALL forums just like any administrator.

This can be done on the member's personal edit page.

Admin as a Mod

If you'd like to make one your admins a moderator of a certain forum or forums, you can still do this, but it must be done via the edit page for the forum you wish them to moderate.

Go to admin > forum and chat management and click the security link on the forum in question.

Scroll down to the special members section at the bottom of this page. Use the Add section to type in the name of your admin and click the Add button.

When you type their name, remember to use the board or global extension - eg, theirname.u or theirname.boardname

If you want to add an admin to all your forums as a moderator, and you have a lot of forums, try demoting them temporarily so that you can use their personal edit page to adjust their settings. Then promote them to admin again. (Don't do this on the account you're using as the time however!)
