current bugs with chat
If you experience any problems with Chat, please report them at the bug forum - http://support.yuku.com/forums/56
If you have chat set up on your own community and you're getting an error message, try deleting your chat room, making a change to the settings, then re-creating your chatroom.
I am currently writing the rest of this FAQ page to help you use chat!

Using chat
To enter the chatroom, click on the chatroom link on the main page of the board. This should open a popup window. If no window appears, try checking your settings for popups to allow it.
The chatroom is divided into three panels. These are:
- The conversation area
- Your typing area
- The participants list
To get going, just click in the typing box at the bottom, and start talking!
Customising your chat
You can change various aspects of your chat experience, using the buttons above the typing area.
Chat avatars
Use the first button to select an avatar for your profile name. This avatar will be shown beside your name in the member list on the right., as well as in the conversation area.
Text controls and colours
Use the buttons - b, i, u to bold, italicize or underline your text.
The button with "12" on it will change the size of your text, and the small coloured square is to change the colour of your text.
Chat smilies
Using some common shortcuts, you can make smilies appear in your posts. (for example :) makes a basic smilie.)
You can also use the smilie button to choose more.
Extra fun
The next three buttons are just little extras... you can change the conversation background, insert a flash emoticon (people click it to see a flash animation) and use predefined lines of text.
Talking to others
You can talk directly to one member in the conversation area by selecting their name in the member list, and then typing your message.
Whispering
You can also have a completely private conversation with them, by clicking on their name and choosing private.
old conversations
When you enter the chatroom you will see the last few lines that were said in the chatroom before you entered. (Even if they are hours old). This is handy for anyone who gets accidently disconnected while they are chatting. When they return they won't have missed anything. Since you don't know who's going to walk in next, do watch your tongues!
Administrating
As an admin/mod you can moderate the chatroom. You have options to kick members out of the room, and ban profiles/IP addresses for repeat offenders.
When you kick a member out of the room they are banned for a period of time. That time is set by the admin under chat settings
*Disclaimer - As this is an admin account, the options that you can see are for admin level. There will be some options not available to members. I will update this FAQ with member specific images too.
