Gold Community

Gold Community is how you can keep your community ad-free. No banners, no text links, and most importantly, no pop-ups. All users enjoy ad-free browsing when visiting your community, or you can control who does and doesn't see ads.
In terms of costs, Gold community is divided into two tiers. Boards with under 50,000 total page views per month, and boards with over 50,000 total page views per month. Gold is purchased and spent differently for these two tiers. Note that whether your board is under or over 50k is calculated on all page views, and not just views of pages with ads on them.
Purchasing Gold for your community
To become a Gold community, you need to enable contributions so that you and your members can contribute to the community. When contributions are enabled, your members will see a button the main page that allows them to contribute. You also have a contribute button within your control panel. You need to enable contribute to allow you to pay for Gold, even if it's just you who is going to pay for it.
This is what the controls for a non Gold board looks like in the control panel:
Click on Make contribution to pay for Gold for your board. Depending on whether your board is under or over 50k views will determine which payment screen you see.
To find out if which level your board is, go to admin > stats graphs and view the graph for daily page views. This is the page views of ALL pages of your board. Set the graph to show you 1 month. This will give you the monthly viewing total.
Under 50k boards/flat pricing model
If your board is under 50k views, you will then see this screen:
Once you've paid for Gold, your control panel will look like this:
While your board remains under 50k views, your gold will be measured in days. This is the flat pricing model.
If your board goes over 50k total views per month then it will use the flexible pricing model and your remaining gold days will be converted to ad page view credits. It will remain using the flexible pricing model even if your total page views drops below 50k again.

If your board is over 50k views you will see this screen:

Migrated boards that are over 50k views
If your board migrated from ezboard with active gold community, then the remainder of your Gold that was copied from ezboard will be applied in DAYS, not pageviews, to honour the time that you paid for when you intially purchased gold on ezboard. Contributions and the balance of your ezboard chest will be applied as pageviews. This will result in two status lines as in this example:
When the days are used up, THEN the page views will begin to be used.
What happens when an under 50k board goes over 50k views
If you page views increase from under 50,000 per month to over 50,000 per month, then you board will switch from the under 50k pricing model to the over 50k pricing model.
What this means is that your remaining days will be converted into ad-free page views. You will also then have access to the Ads Settings page. When your board changes, the default setting is for all members and registered users to NOT see ads, and for unregistered guests to see ads. You can change this to however you wish to manage your ads.

Contributing to a community is done via paypal. You can use a paypal account OR a credit card.

Discounts
As you can see on the contribution screens, you can get discounts for buying in bulk. The biggest discount you can get is 33%. When you key in the amount you'd like to contribute and press submit, the next page will tell you how many ad-free page views or days that amount will buy.
Community Chest
There is no community chest in yuku at this time. We are speccing up an exciting way to fundraise and an option that will replace the chest.
Benefits for contributors
For every $6 that you donate to a Community, $1 (equal to 1 month) will be added to your own yuku supporter balance. For larger donations this amount is increased.
Ad-free page views - your stats
to find out how many of your ad-free page views you are using daily, weekly and monthly, go to admin > stats graph and view ad-page views
The total ad-free page views equals the total of pages viewed that show ads. The only pages that show ads are the topic pages.
Managing Ads
Ads are shown on Thread pages and search results pages. They are not shown on the main page or forum topic list pages. They are not shown on your community profile or calendar pages.
If you have an under 50k board and you pay for Gold community, ALL visitors to your board will experience an ad free visit.
If you have an over 50k view board, then you can additionally control who sees ads and who doesn't. Using the menu item Ads Settings you can choose to show ads to some members based on criteria. Where a box is checked, this indicates that ads are NOT shown.
