Folders

You must be logged in and have owner or admin powers in order to work with Folders.

Folders in a Yuku community hold one or more forums. Typically a folder is used to hold a group of forums that have similar subjects like "Cars" and "Corvette".

In your community you can have as many folders as you like and in each folder you can have as many forums as you like. You may find though, that carefully naming folders and limiting the number of folders on your community will make it easier for your users to find the right discussion for them.

Hiding and Showing Folders

To hide/show folders: Click the "[hide]"/"[show]" link on the right side of a folder's title area to hide or show the forums in that folder.

Please be aware that your hide/show settings are changed immediately upon clicking the "[hide]"/"[show]" links.

Managing Folders

Add a Folder

To add a folder to your message board:

1. Open the menu.
2. Click the Admin Menu tab.
3. Click on the Custom link.
4. Click on the Edit Forums link.
5. Click on the "Add Folder" Button on the Forums Options page.
6. A new folder will be automatically added at the top of the Message Board.

Edit Folder Title

To edit a folder title:

1. Open the menu.
2. Click the Admin Menu tab.
3. Click on the Custom link.
4. Click on the Edit Forums link.
5. Click on the Folder title you want to edit.
6. Enter the name of the folder into the text box.
7. Click outside the title text area to save the changes.

Moving a Folder

To move a folder up or down on your message board:

1. Open the menu.
2. Click the Admin Menu tab.
3. Click on the Custom link.
4. Click on the Edit Forums link.
5. Mouse over the title of the folder you want to move
6. Use the Up/Down arrows on the left side to move the forum up or down on your message board.

Delete a Folder

To delete a folder:

1. Open the menu.
2. Click the Admin Menu tab.
3. Click on the Custom link.
4. Click on the Edit Forums link.
5. Click on the "Delete Folder" next to the folder you wish to delete.
6. Click "OK" on the warning page to confirm that you really want to delete the folder.
7. Click "OK" to delete the folder.

CAUTION: This will delete the folder and all its contents - that includes all the forums and posts in that folder. Deleting a folder cannot be undone.
