What is yuku?
yuku is the next generation of community software by ezboard. Totally rebuilt from scratch and based on 7 years of community experience, it is designed to combine our classic functionality with new technologies and web 2.0 features that have become available. This will allow us to provide a richer user experience for existing ezboard users and new users alike, while keeping the fun, customization and ease of use that ezboard is traditionally known for.
Can I expect similar feature set to ezboard in yuku?
Some features are identical, some better, and some complete reinvented to address new Internet trends. Please see our list of features, both existing and in development.
Do I have to switch to this next version of software?
No, not unless you want to. But we envisage that almost all ezboards will be switched over to this version at some point in time. We will keep server clusters running old software for some time. However, we're confident that by the time yuku is ready, you'll be seeing a system that more than meets your expectations, and you'll be happy to make the switch. It is free, faster and better. You can come over to yuku any time you like to make a test board and play with the controls if you want to familiarize yourself with it before taking any action on your own board.
Do I have to move my board to yuku.com domain?
No, you do not have move to yuku.com. If you'd prefer to stay on ezboard.com with your current ezboard software you can. If you would prefer to switch to the next generation software (yuku style) and stay in ezboard.com domain, you will be able to do that to. If you decide to do so, we will improve your urls by giving you your own domain.
E.g. p066.ezboard.com/bboardname will become board.ezboard.com. This will improve your ranking in the search engines and give you a url that's easier to remember and type.
What gets transferred over when you migrate a board?
If a board is migrated from ezboard to yuku, then member data and board data will be preserved. Your members will be able to log into yuku using their ezboard password (and email address) as your full memberlist will be transferred too. The transfer is actually a copy and your ezboard will remain in our system for some time after the migration as a failsafe. Once your yuku domain is up and running, your ezboard will redirect at all levels. Each topic will redirect to the new topic location.
Will my ezboard forum be switched over without my consent?
No, boards will need to be switched by the admin. At this stage, they will not be switched over by our system if you do not initiate the switch.
What will happen if I choose not to migrate my board?
At this point in time, nothing. Your ezboard will continue to run as it always has. You have a minimum of 12 months* before you need to make a decision, and as stated above, some clusters of boards on the current software may be kept running.

Why can't you keep ezboard going just like it is?
Every software maker releases new and updated versions to replace older ones. Many people like ezboard as it is, but many more want us to implement new features. Starting development from scratch gives us the opportunity to factor in many of the features that people have been asking about for years, and also allows us to take advantage of new technologies to bring you a system that is modern, flexible, customizable and more powerful than ezboard. Working on development in yuku as a separate domain gives us an arena to test and develop in that allows our users to participate in testing and give feedback as we build - without disrupting our current services.
I don't want to wait, can I switch now?
Yes you can. We have started manual migrations. We are working closely with each admin who has chosen to migrate their board early. If you want to get on the VIP list for early migration just put in a ticket. How long it will take at this stage will depend on how many are in the queue before you, so the quicker you opt in, the quicker you'll be migrated. Once we're happy with the manual results, this system will become automated, and you'll be able to start the migration process yourself. These migrations will move you to the yuku domain instead of the ezboard domain. We do remind you that yuku is still in beta at this time.
Will there be an ezSupporter equivalent in yuku?
Yes, this is currently in development.
Can I use javascript in yuku?
You can't use your own javascript, however have a javascript library that allows you to choose, configure and apply pre-approved scripts to your community.
