Creating a Message Board

You must be logged into a yuku account to create a new message board. (If you don't have an account yet, you can signup.)

To create a message board:

  1. Open the Menu and click on the create Community button.

  1. Fill out the required forms on the Create Message Board page.

Note: Domain Names can only contain letters and numbers and no spaces.

  1. Click the Submit button

If the name you want to use for your community is taken you will need to choose another name for your community.

Once you have clicked the "Submit" button the Yuku system will create all the necessary pieces to get your community up and running. Your new Yuku community will have a default skin with three Folders and five Forums that have been pre-populated with example posts.

There are a few things you might want to do right away with your new Yuku community:

  1. Set up the community folders and forums - You can learn how to do this by reading our Working with Folders and Forums Management help files.
  2. Choose a new look or Skin for your community - You can learn everything you need to know about customizing your community in our Community Skins help article.
  3. Promote Your Community - Tell your friends to check out your new Yuku community by inviting them to it with the Invite feature.
  4. Embed Your Message Board - Link to your message board from other sites or put links to your message board from other sites. This increases the number of places people can come from to get to your message board and it helps search engines rank your message board higher in search results.

There is a lot more you can do with your new Yuku message board, but this is a great place to get started!
