The Chat Security settings page allows you to filter specific words from your community's chat rooms as well as set a variety of flood control options to manage your chat rooms.

Note: This settings are applied once every hour.

Note: Any changes here will disconnect your users when applied.


Profanity Filter

You can use the chat profanity filter to filter a default set of words from you community chat as well as add additional words to the filter.

To turn the Chat Profanity Filter on (recommended):

  1. Check the radio button next to 'ON: enable profanity filter'.
  2. Click on the Submit button to save the changes.

To turn the Chat Profanity Filter off:

  1. Check the radio button next to 'OFF: disable profanity filter'.
  2. Click on the Submit button to save the changes.

To add additional words to the filter:

  1. Enter the additional words that you want filtered from your chat rooms into the text area.
  2. Click on the Submit button to save the changes.

Flood Control

You can use the chat flood controls to set the frequency of messages a user can send in the chat room as well as set ban times and a character limit for the chat messages.

To set the chat interval:

  1. Choose the desired message interval period from the Interval dropdown menu.
  2. Click the Submit Button to save the changes.

To set the ban time:

  1. Choose the desired ban time period from the Ban Time dropdown menu.
  2. Click the Submit Button to save the changes.

To set the character limit:

  1. Choose the desired message character limit from the Character Limit dropdown menu.
  2. Click the Submit Button to save the changes.
